Today was Dr. Day in Mrs. Grubb's classroom!

Raleigh County Schools received a waiver of the 180 instructional day requirement. Five instructional days have been waived. As of today, the last day for students will be Monday, June 8, 2026.

Popsicle sales will resume on Friday, 3-13-2026. Popsicles are $1. PK does not attend school Friday, 3-13-2026. Yearbook pre-orders are $30 and can be purchased in the school office through Friday, 3-13-2026.

March's Golden Awards were presented today at FES as a part of our PBIS mission!

The Golden Spoon is awarded to 2 classes for the best cafeteria behavior and cleanliness. Congratulations to Mrs. Hannah/Ms. Canterbury's Kindergarten class and ALL 5th grade classes for achieving this win!

The Golden Dustpan is awarded to 2 classrooms who leave their room the most tidy at the end of the day. Congratulations to Mrs. Virgie/Mrs. Jenkins' PK class and Ms. Begley's 4th grade class for earning the golden dustpans!

The Golden Sneakers are awarded to 2 classes for those best meeting hallway expectations. Congratulations to Mrs. Lisa/Mrs. Daniel's Kindergarten class and Ms. Autumn/Mrs. Toler's 3rd grade class for earning those sneakers!

Spring pictures at Fairdale Elementary will be Tuesday, 3/10/2026.

The final date for yearbook pre-orders will be Friday, 3/13/2026. Stop by the school's office to order your yearbook!

PK students do not attend school on Friday, 3/13/2026.

Midterm reports go home 3/3/2026. Shopping at the book fair will continue this week on Monday, 3/2/2026 and Wednesday, 3/4/2026. Spring pictures are 3/10/2026. PK students do not attend school 3/13/2026. Yearbook orders must be placed by 3/13/2026. Students who participated in the Kids Heart Challenge are scheduled to attend a glow party on 3/23/2026. Spring parties are set for 3/27/2026 with more details being sent home by teachers. Spring break is March 30-April 3, 2026.

The final day to turn in donations for the Kids Heart Challenge is tomorrow, February 27th 2026. Remember any monetary donation will permit students into a glow party that is tentatively set for 3/23/26. Any student registered will receive a wristband and after $5 will start receiving prizes. As of today, our school has raised $2,222.40 for the American Heart Association and 10 students have completed Finns Mission. Great job, Falcons! Thank you for raising money for a good cause! Remember tomorrow is the last day to get those donations turned in! Thank you. ❤️

Updates from Fairdale Elementary include the following information:
1. Grades 2-5 have a scheduled field trip on Wednesday, 2/25/2026. In the event of a school cancellation or delay on 2/25, the field trip will be cancelled. If there is availability, we will reschedule and send more information as it becomes available.
2. The book fair will begin once we return to school. It will be extended into next week.

Ms. Kim and Mrs. Kayla did a wonderful job setting up the book fair! Students can shop February 23-27, 2026!

A precautionary lockdown was called at Fairdale Elementary this afternoon and has now been lifted. Dismissal will occur as normal.
